I'm releasing code in CSharp for the comprehensive reading of SMART registers of a HDD (via WMI) similar to what Crystal Disk or HD Tune report it in.
The code below will return the SMART registers for all hard drives, the HDD serial, interface, model numbers and each attribute's current value, worst value, and threshold value including the status of each (OK/BAD) register.

Oddly similar code is available in Delphi, VB6, C++ but not for C#. So this is my contribution, enjoy.

Check if you are running as the administrator and have full permissions.
I've tested this code on various computers so far no issues.

About the "OK/BAD register"...
I don't think you're right assuming that true/false here means the value is OK/BAD. According to SMART specification this should be just a flag describing what kind of an attribute that is - if it's true (so called PreFailure attribute) *AND* the normalized value is below the threshold, only then we should treat this as a BAD condition.

Thanks for your comment. I have reached that same conclusion.
As long as the normalised value is below the threshold, the register is "OK".
